Notice to Taxpayers: 
Beginning on Thursday, September 16, 2021, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Tax Office
will begin using a new mandatory DMV system for tag renewals.
There will be a $1.00 additional fee per renewal (this is an addition to the $1.00 per year County fee)

Ex: For regular Class “A” plate
1 year $51.50 will be $53.50
2 year $103.00 will be $106.00

We will be directly connected to the Charleston DMV, so all of the sales are final as of close of business day.
Any refunds will have to be requested through the Charleston DMV office.

Notice to Taxpayers:
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Tax Office is now collecting 2022 taxes, fire fees and ambulance fees at the Tax Office located on the first floor in the Courthouse.

Taxpayers will be allowed a discount of 2 1/2 percent on the first half or full year if paid by September 1, 2022.

The Sheriff’s Tax Deputies and an Assessor’s Office Deputy will be at the Senior Center, Paw Paw, on Thursday, August 18, 2022 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to receive payment on the first half or for the full year and/or take assessments for personal property owned.

The Tax Office will be open extended hours for tax collection:
Saturday, August 27th  9:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Saturday September 24th 9:00 a.m. – 1: p.m.
